Growing up, harmony in the family was something I saw as precious and beautiful. As an adult I constantly strive to find ways to achieve this goal. Child psychology courses left me wondering how I could help children before a breakdown occurred in their family life instead of afterwards. It was only after I was introduced to the Montessori philosophy that I understood there was a way for me to reach out and help children and their families strengthen their relationships. Maria Montessori looked at the family as a unit and the child as a part of that unit, each person needs to be treated with care and respect in order to keep the harmony in the family. I looked to teaching in a Montessori environment in order to continue with my own personal dream of seeing children raised in loving, caring and peaceful families.
