General

Focus of the Month:

After reviewing the parts of the flower and their functions, we will delve into the pollination processes. We'll explore how agents such as wind, insects, birds, and occasionally bats contribute to the transfer of pollen for fertilization. Our discussion will extend to the various methods flowers employ to attract different pollinators, including utilizing distinct scents, colors, and shapes.

Our practical session will include a nature walk to observe and gather specimens. We'll examine flowers closely to identify their parts, assess symmetry, and determine their position on the stem—whether they are solitary blooms or part of a cluster.
